A mother of twin sons said that a school that she had applied to asked for documents proving that her sons were twins. The schools issued her an application form only after she had provided the proof.
Mansi Saraswat, a mother of twins said, "My children are inseparable and I can't even think of getting them admitted in separate schools. If one of them qualifies for a schools and the other does not, I will have no choice but to request the school management." Principals of schools have said that the points system is confusing not only for the parents but for schools as well. Ameeta Wattal, principal of Springdales School said, "It was easier for us to consider such cases earlier when the parents had been allowed to interact with the schools authorities. Now, after the points system has been implemented, the situation is quite tricky." Principal of Laxman Public School Usha Ram said that they had considered the dilemma that parents of twins would have to go through and have hence decided to allocate the points for "first-born" criteria to both children. |
